Red Eye follows Matthew Nolan, a doctor who comes dangerously close to perishing in a car crash while on his way back to the airport after visiting a medical conference in Beijing. When he arrives at London Heathrow, he’s surprised to find himself immediately arrested for murder, with police officers claiming that a woman has died when he crashed his car before taking off.

Confused and jetlagged, Nolan is sent on a return trip to Beijing via the Red Eye to address these charges in person. Accompanying him on the journey is DC Hana Li, a straight-talking cop with a dark and difficult past who doesn't want to return to Beijing but is being forced to due to Nolan's case.

It's a job she's taking on begrudgingly and one that she's not at all happy about. However, when people suddenly start dying during the Red Eye flight, Hana starts to think something bigger and more sinister may be at play.

Meanwhile, on ground level, Hana’s reporter sister Jess digs a little too deep into her sibling’s case and quickly finds herself in an assassin’s crosshairs, with Mi5 employee Madeline Delaney deciding to ignore the company rulebook to help Hana and Jess and expose this deadly conspiracy which has governmental links.

Host and Silent Witness star Jemma Moore will play Hana’s sister Jess Li, with The Full Monty’s Lesley Sharp playing Madeline Delaney, the Mi5 agent forced to break the rules to help Hana save the day.

Behind the camera, Red Eye is directed by Kieron Hawkes, the same filmmaker behind episodes of shows like Fortitude.
