Rescue dog has his dreadlocks cut off so it can finally walk properly
A rescue dog has had its dreadlocks trimmed off so it can finally walk properly.
The animal’s matted fur had grown so long he was tripping over himself.
The dog was rescued in the Polish city of Lodz after he was left to fend for himself for several months.
He was rescued and taken to an animal shelter after he was seen wandering the streets.
Police identified his owner and went to arrest him, but no one answered the door. However, they could hear barking inside.

Lukasz Berlinski, head of the police’s animal control department, said: “Nobody would open the door to us, but from the inside we could hear the dog barking.”
Police and firefighters entered the property and found the mistreated dog.
Animal shelter worker Marta Olesinska said: “He could not move or even poop properly because of its long matted fur.
“Someone had ignored his needs for a very long time.”
Staff at the animal shelter have named the dog “Farciarz”, which means “Lucky”.
They have also cut his fur so he can walk properly.
The dog weighed almost 4kg before the haircut and almost half that afterwards. The animal has no serious health problems.
Ms Olesinska said: “The investigation against the owner is underway. Apparently, the man has an alcohol problem.”
