Richard Dreyfuss swears on daytime TV for the second time in a week

Another day, another sweary TV slip-up for veteran actor Richard Dreyfuss.

The Jaws star, 71, was a guest on This Morning where he was telling hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield a story about a costumer who was the first person ever to comment on him being short.

Dreyfuss blurted out: “I realised for the first time that I was short – and I was p*****.”

The shocked presenters both said “oops” and apologised to camera, with Dreyfuss clearly noticing his mistake by covering his mouth with his hand.

But the actor was so far into his anecdote that he continued on, despite having sworn on daytime TV for the second time in a week.

Dreyfuss’ previous slip-up came on Friday when he was a guest on The One Show talking about his new film The Astronaut.

Telling another anecdote, he said: “Steven Spielberg said later that, had he been married with kids, he would not have had the ending that we had and I say to that, ‘bulls**t’.”

Presenters Amol Rajan and Angela Scanlon looked horrified as Rajan whispered to their guest: “We’re not actually allowed to use that language at this time so we have got to apologise for that.”

Dreyfuss managed to laugh it off by saying: “Oh I’m terribly sorry. I’m more sorry than they are because I get to go home, they’re going to get fired.”

Things then got even more awkward when he began reading out the autocue at the same time as Rajan.
