Saturday Night Takeaway's Ant and Dec plotting 'top secret' project as ITV show put on pause

Ant and Dec have given a clear hint they're plotting a 'top secret' career move, by launching a new company with a very Geordie name, weeks after they bid an emotional farewell to Saturday Night Takeaway.

It was last year that the Geordie had some major news for fans, revealing they were planning on resting Takeaway, having launched their show to great success over two decades ago. Reluctant to whether or not Takeaway would be going on a permanent hiatus, Ant and Dec made sure that its 20th series was one to remember, pulling out all the stops with A-list guests, amazing prizes and their best pranks to date.

The latest run wrapped up on ITV last month, with the Saturday Night Takeaway finale starring the likes of Scarlett Moffatt, S Club, Ashley Roberts and Tony Hadley and coming to a close with an epic End of the Show Show, but not before Ant and Dec delivered a heartfelt speech to the nation, in which they spoke on how much doing Takeaway had meant to them, as well as thanking fans for their continued support.

Ant and Dec are currently on screen in the new series of Britain's Got Talent and are due back on ITV later this year for the return of I'm A Celebrity, but it looks like the lads are looking even further ahead, with their company Mire Studios filing a request to trademark a new business, Belta Box, across variety of spectrums including TV, radio, magazines, clothing and books as well as for online use, having launched digital cookery series Taste Mates to great success.

On the presenters new venture, A source has now told The Mirror: "Everything Ant and Dec does turns to gold and this is sure to be another success," with a spokesperson for Mitre commenting: "Taste Mates and Belta Box are digital projects that will tap into the Mitre core values of being fun and engaging."
