Simon Cowell Basically Wants Chitty Chitty Bang Bang For His Birthday?

What do you get Simon Cowell, a man who has everything, for his birthday? A real-life Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, apparently.

Yep, according to reports, the X Factor boss has asked Lauren Silverman to gift him with an actual flying car for his 56th birthday.

Whatever happened to asking for ten pounds and a packet of double chocolate chip mini muffins, eh?

Of course, only the best will do for Mr. Cowell (who could probably afford to buy the muffin factory and give his family tasty treats for a lifetime), so he’s got his heart, body and soul set on something a little more out-of-the-ordinary for this year’s birthday gift.

The Mirror reports that Simon is after the TF-X flying car, which actually exists and is being worked on by US engineers as we speak.

The 200mph car will feature fold-out wings, twin electric motors and a computer controlled 500-mile flight range, and will allegedly cost between £400,000-£500,000.

The site reports that Simon’s said: “I would like a flying car. I saw one and I read about it in Top Gear magazine recently. I thought, ‘God if there is anything I want, that is it’.

“It is the most coolest thing. If they can actually make one that would be top of my list.

“I want the flying car. I’m easy to buy for.”

If sorting out a flying car means being ‘easy to buy for’, then suddenly our request for a pony seems seriously doable.

TALKING TO YOU, MUM AND DAD.

Having spent his birthday on a plane to Los Angeles with Lauren and their son Eric, Simon also admitted that he probably won’t be inviting his whole black book of contacts round for a birthday knees-up.

He revealed: “I’ve told Lauren after you get to 50 you don’t really want to celebrate your birthday. But I’m happy, I’m in a good place.”

Happy (belated) birthday, Simon! We hope you had a wonderful day and got everything you asked for - Even the flying car.
