Snow Blankets High Elevation Home on Nevada Mountain

Snow blanketed a home on the Lee Canyon side of Mount Charleston, about 50 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada, on Tuesday, February 6.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a winter storm warning for the Spring Mountains, which includes Mount Charleston.

The NWS warned of additional snow accumulations up to 18 inches at elevations above 6,000 feet. The weather service advised that travel in these conditions is very hazardous, and recommended that anyone needing to travel keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in the vehicle in case of an emergency.
