Usain Bolt is now on crutches, having sustained a serious injury during Sunday night's Soccer Aid, with viewers seeing the world famous sprinter leave the pitch on a stretcher.

Having scored in the ITV game before, the Jamaican athlete was chomping at the bit to add to his Soccer Aid tally at Stamford Bridge, as he led the line for the World XI, alongside former Italian pro and Juventus megastar Alessandro Del Piero. Sadly for Bolt, while his striking partner did find the net, to give the World XI a 2-1 lead in the first half, Bolt didn't managed to get on the score sheet, as his side then lost their lead and ended up on the wrong end of a 6-3 score line.

Things got even worse for the 37-year-old in the second half, when he had to leave the field of play and be replaced by comedian Jason Manford, after going to ground with an injury. And, after significant concern from fans for the Olympic legend, Bolt has now revealed the extent of his issue, confirming that he has ruptured his Achilles.

Bolt took to Instagram late on Sunday night to post a photo of himself sat in a moonboot and next to a pair of cutches in the World XI dressing room at Chelsea's ground and wrote: "Ruptured Achilles but done know we a warrior" Fellow sprinter Justin Gatlin responded: "Bro what you out here doing?!? We retired remember" as a comment from the official Olympics account read: "Sending positive vibes, and wishing you a speedy recovery."

England managed to completely turn things around in Sunday's game to win Soccer Aid for the first time in six years. Following Ellen White's equaliser towards the end of the first half to maker it 2-2, super sub Steven Bartlett scored twice, with ex pros Jermain Defoe and Theo Walcott also getting in on the goals, as Billy Wingrove got a third for the World XI from the penalty spot.
