Yahoo News Strictly's Gemma said she was "going to sleep with" Gorka after first meeting
Strictly Come Dancing star Gorka Marquez has revealed the hilarious comment his partner Gemma Atkinson made to a friend after the two met for the first time.
In a teaser clip from their new reality TV series Gemma & Gorka: Life Behind The Lens (currently airing on UKTV channel W), Gemma and Gorka were interviewed individually and asked to recall their first meeting.
Gemma, who appeared as a contestant on Strictly in 2017, demonstrated that she was at a group rehearsal, bending over and touching her toes when Gorka came over to say "hello".

"She was doing that and I came behind and said 'cuckoo'," says Gorka, mimicking putting his head between his legs.
"That was the first time I saw him, literally," continues Gemma. "And I came up and I laughed, and I turned around and said 'You alright?' and he says: 'Yeah, yeah, I am Gorka'."
Gemma introduced herself and the two said their "Nice to meet yous" before carrying on with the rehearsal.

In the same clip, Gorka recalls returning home that day and telling his friends that he found Gemma "hot".
It appears that the feeling was mutual, as Gorka then revealed Gemma's response to meeting him.
"One of Gemma's best friends messages her, 'How was your first day?', and her answer was like 'Great, I think I'm going to sleep with the Spanish one'," he says with a grin.
"That was of course me," he clarifies, still smiling.
The clip was shared as a joint Instagram post on Gemma and Gorka's profiles. In the caption, Gemma claims that she actually told her friend something different.
"I think you’ll find Gorks, what I actually said was “I’m gonna pipe the spanish one”," the caption read. "It was to @cintalondon on one of our many strictly debriefs!"
The friend in question, Cinta Miller also got in on the fun, commenting on the post: "I remember that sentence clear as day!!! Xxxx."
After meeting on the set of Strictly in late 2017, Gemma and Gorka confirmed their relationship on Valentine's Day 2018. They moved in together later that year and in 2019 welcomed their daughter Mia.
Gorka popped the question to Gemma on Valentine's Day in 2021 and just last month, Gemma gave birth to their son Thiago.
Gemma & Gorka: Life Behind The Lens airs Wednesdays at 8pm on W Channel and is available to stream on UKTV Play.
