A college in Scotland has announced a new Taylor Swift course ahead of the global superstar's highly anticipated shows in Edinburgh this summer.

The Cruel Summer singer is set to touch down in the Scottish capital on June 7 as part of her Eras Tour for three consecutive nights. It is estimated that she will perform in front of more than 215,000 fans at Murrayfield Stadium.

Of those attending, it’s likely that many 'Swifties' will be taking a parent or partner who may be unfamiliar with the pop star's music. To prepare these plus ones, Glasgow Clyde College is offering a one-time-only course this May.

The class will contain information such as set lists and crowd chants to help loved ones enjoy the massive gigs as much as Swift superfans themselves. Top tips will also be shared around her wardrobe and hair styles, as well as make-up techniques for attending the sold-out shows.

The one-off course will take place at Glasgow Clyde College's Langside Campus on May 7 from 6pm until 7.30pm in the Innovation Centre. It will be delivered by a Taylor Swift expert, who will give attendees a whistle-stop lesson that will leave them ready for the gigs.

Curriculum Assistant Principal at Glasgow Clyde College Robert Anderson commented: "Taylor mania doesn’t seem to be slowing anytime soon, and we expect it'll reach its peak here in Scotland in June. We understand that not everyone will be up to speed on all things Taylor and might not get the full Eras experience.

"That’s why we created this masterclass — to prepare those who’ll be heading along to the gig with their superfan kids, friends or partners to ensure they have just as memorable a time. Taylor’s gigs are known for being so well crafted, and unless you’re a fan yourself, you might miss some of the iconic moments.

"Our expert will take you through everything you need to know — leaving you a Swiftie in no time."

Swift announced her three dates in Edinburgh last year and, based on Ticketmaster data, more than 2.9 million UK fans attempted to secure tickets. It is expected that she will break the record for Scotland's biggest show, beating Harry Styles who played at Murrayfield in 2023.

More details and information on how to book tickets can be found on Eventbrite.
