The Rock & Chris Evans Are Getting Involved In The 22 Pushup Challenge, But What Is It?

No doubt you’ll remember the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge that captured everyone’s imagination in 2014, where everyone from actors, to singers got involved in the charity and a lot of money was donated to the cause.

Now, it seems 2016 has given birth to a new initiative that’s aims to raise awareness regarding the suicide rate with army veterans. According to statistics, 22 vets end their lives every single say in the US, which is staggering, so the 22 Pushup Challenge’s aim is to raise awareness of this distressing stat.

Captain America star Chris Evans has been one of the early famous faces to partake, posting his video onto social media over the weekend.

Basically, it involved you filming yourself doing 22 pushups, only Evans’ dog appeared to be a bit of (a cute) distraction as he was doing his thing,

And as the challenge began to gather momentum on Twitter, it was only a matter of time before others got involved, including gym master Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. And he was also very vocal on addressing the reasons behind the challenge, as you can see on his Instagram account. He also seems to be distracted by his dog who, for some reason, become very inquisitive when their owners are doing pushups.

Other big names to rise to the challenge so far include Johnson’s ‘Central Intelligence’ co-star Kevin Hart, Chris Pratt and Anna Farris, and John Krasinski.

As with the Ice Bucket Challenge, everyone who does this one then nominates three people, so it seems that before long you’re going to be seeing a lot of people (famous or otherwise) doing pushups on camera.
