England's European Championship 2024 campaign will commence on Sunday afternoon, as they face off against Aleksandr Mitrovic and his Serbian team in Gelsenkirchen.

Gareth Southgate's squad enters the tournament as favourites to claim the trophy on July 14. They'll be up against Serbia, Denmark, and Slovenia in Group C, before potentially challenging knockout rounds.

The tournament begins on Friday with host nation Germany playing Scotland, before England takes on Serbia, a match that will have the nation glued to their screens.

Despite having a relatively easy group stage draw, Serbia could prove to be a thorn in the side of Southgate's golden generation.

With Mitrovic and Dusan Vlahovic leading the attack, and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Sasa Lukic providing support, Serbia enters the tournament on a high note after a convincing victory over Sweden in their final pre-tournament friendly, reports Football London.

England aims to kick off their quest for glory in style. Even without Marcus Rashford, James Maddison, Raheem Sterling, and Jack Grealish, the team is still brimming with talent.

The match at the Arena AufSchalke in Gelsenkirchen will be broadcast live worldwide. For fans in the UK, coverage begins at 7pm on BBC One, BBC Sport Online, and BBC iPlayer.

ITV had the privilege of broadcasting the first three matches of the tournament, featuring Germany v Scotland, Hungary v Switzerland and Spain v Croatia. Their first England match will be the group's final against Slovenia on Tuesday 25 June.
