An emotional Trent Alexander-Arnold fought back the tears as he thanked Jurgen Klopp for changing his life at Liverpool.

Klopp marked his final game at Anfield on Sunday with a 2-0 win over Wolves before a guard of honour from his players and staff was followed by a specially-commissioned plaque being presented to him by the club's owners, Fenway Sports Group.

The outgoing Reds boss also gave one last speech to the supporters at Anfield and Alexander-Arnold was in tears alongside his team-mates as Klopp spoke to the fans in the ground.

Under Klopp's guidance, Alexander-Arnold has gone from a teenage hopeful to one of the finest full-backs in the European game, with all of his 310 appearances coming under Klopp during a time where he has won eight trophies, including the Champions League, Premier League and a first-ever Club World Cup.

Speaking to Viaplay after Sunday's game, Alexander-Arnold admitted his emotions had gotten the better of him on the day as he summed up the impact the manager has had on his own career and family.

"He's changed my life and everyone around me, my whole family,” Alexander-Arnold said. “This was all possible through him so I can never say thank you enough for that. He made my dreams come true so there's a big thank you to him for that.

“I'm never emotional, honestly. Ask my family, ask anyone, I'm not emotional, I can't remember the last time I cried.

“Honestly, I haven't cried in years so this is very, very, very strange for me. It just shows how much he means to me and the club.”
