TVLine Items: SpongeBob Meets Super Bowl, Adventure Time Season 2 and More

The Super Bowl is going under the sea.

Nickelodeon will offer a “slime-filled” simulcast of Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024 (at 6:30 pm ET), in which CBS Sports’ Nate Burleson and play-by-play announcer Noah Eagle are joined in the booth by animated characters SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick Star, Sandy Cheeks and Larry the Lobster.

The special presentation comes following Nickelodeon and CBS Sports’ previous team-up for the 2021 NFL Wild Card Game on Nickelodeon. The two will also partner for the Nickelodeon NFL Nickmas Game, between the Las Vegas Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs, on Monday, Dec. 25 at 1 pm ET, featuring Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Raphael and Donatello.

* Max has renewed Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake for a second season.

* HBO has renewed Last Week Tonight With John Oliver for Seasons 11-13, which will keep the late-night series on air through at least 2026.

* Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest has tapped Rita Ora and Jeannie Mai to serve as Seacrest’s new co-hosts. Ora will be live in Times Square, while Mai will emcee from Los Angeles.

* Shudder has renewed the reality competition series The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula for a sixth season. The renewal comes ahead of the remaining four episodes of Season 4 currently streaming on Shudder and AMC+, with the finale set to drop Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024.

* Disney/Pixar’s Soul, Turning Red and Luca — all of which premiered on Disney+ during pandemic times — are set to now hit theaters on Jan. 12, Feb. 9 and March 22, respectively.

* Season 2 of the medical drama SkyMed will release all nine episodes Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024, on Paramount+. Watch a trailer:
