UFC 257: McGregor vs Poirier 2 LIVE!

Conor McGregor returned to the octagon tonight as he was defeated by Dustin Poirier in the duo’s eagerly-awaited main event rematch at UFC 257.

UFC icon and former two-weight world champion McGregor had not fought since destroying Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone inside 40 seconds 12 months ago, but was powerless in the face of a right hook and barrage of heavy punches from ‘The Diamond’ - who wore his opponent down with repeated calf kicks - that forced the stoppage in round two.

McGregor - who claimed to have retired for the third time in four years last summer - has previously beaten Poirer way back at UFC 178 in September 2014 en route to becoming a superstar of the sport, but slipped to his third UFC debut on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

The undercard action was headlined by a tremendous and explosive first-round stoppage victory from former three-time Bellator world champion Michael Chandler against Dan Hooker and Scotland’s Joanne Calderwood defeating Jessica Eye in an enthralling women’s flyweight bout.
