Victoria Justice details ‘uncomfortable’ first sex scene: ‘There's a bunch of random dudes in the room’

Justice said her scene partner made her feel "very safe and was very polite and respectful, so it went well and it's very tasteful.”

Victoria Justice is getting candid about the discomfort of sex scenes.

The former Victorious star talked about shooting the first sex scene of her career in the upcoming crime drama Depravity while visiting SiriusXM Hits 1 LA with Tony Fly and Symon. “My first day on set though, I had my first ever sex scene, which was like, I'm like, ‘Really guys? We're gonna schedule this for the first day? Cool. Thanks for that,’” Justice recalled.

Justice explained why filming the scene was not a particularly pleasant experience. “It is uncomfortable,” she said. “I was really nervous. I was actually very, very nervous about it and totally anxious about the entire situation and I was like, ‘Did I make the wrong choice? I don't know if I should do this.’”

Justice said the project’s director helped set her mind at ease.”I had a lot of faith and trust in our director, Paul Tamasy, and he made me feel very comfortable about it and he was like, ‘Listen, I'll show it to you beforehand. If you don't like it, we'll change it, whatever,’” she said. “I think sometimes people think like filming sex scenes or anything like an intimate scene that it's like really sexy… [but] there's a bunch of random dudes in the room breathing and watching you.”

The actress also said that her scene partner helped minimize the discomfort. “The actor I was working with, we were friends and well, friends as much as we could be,” she said. “We barely knew each other because it was the first day of filming, but he was a super nice guy and made me feel very safe and was very polite and respectful, so it went well and it's very tasteful and yeah. It's good.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Justice also revealed her favorite filming experience on the Nickelodeon series Victorious. “My favorite episode of Victorious to film, probably the episode where we got stuck in an RV,” she said, referring to the eighth episode of the first season from 2010, “Survival of the Hottest.”

“It was really fun,” Justice said of the episode, which was written by series creator Dan Schneider. “I loved that it was contained in this RV and you know, we're hot and sweaty and trying to take sips of water of what's left from the bottle cap and it was just very silly and fun and one of my favorite lines in that episode was when I say to someone like, ‘Oh, thanks Catherine Obvious,’ and they're like, ‘Catherine?’ and like, ‘Yeah, Catherine could be a captain.’”
