Wayne Rooney tells Coleen 'he'll cut down on drinking if she cuts down on holidays'

Wayne Rooney has promised his pregnant wife, Coleen, that he will rein in his drinking if she cuts down on the amount of holidays that she takes, it has been reported.

The 31-year-old footballer was arrested last week after being caught drink-driving in another woman’s car, with the woman suggesting that she would have slept with Wayne had it not been for his arrest.

Coleen was on holiday in Majorca with her and Wayne’s three sons at the time, jetting back immediately to confront her husband.

Now sources claim that Wayne has accused Coleen of taking too many holidays, with it being thought that she has had ten in the past year, including trips to Madrid, Amsterdam, Portugal and Barbados.

Speaking to The Sun, a source said: “Coleen’s still furious with Wayne and is threatening all sorts. Wayne’s just hoping she’ll calm down.

“He’s told her he is willing to stop going out if that means she will stay with him. But he hasn’t totally held back himself.

“He’s pointed the finger at Coleen over the number of holidays she takes and she’s raised questions about his nights out.

“In the end it’ll need some give-and-take on both sides to get everything back to normal.”

Yesterday, Coleen broke her Twitter silence and seemingly slammed reports that she was going to give Wayne “one last chance”.

After an apparant “friend” told The Sun that Coleen “doesn’t want the marriage to end”, Coleen tweeted her 1.28million followers: “Would love to meet all these so called friends of mine who know me so well.

She later added: “I was being sarcastic towards all these great sources the press have… Who I have probably never met in my life! I have the best friends.”

Coleen and Wayne first met in school at the age of 12, dating from the age of 16 and then marrying in June 2008.

Together, they are mum and dad to seven-year-old Kai, four-year-old Klay, and one-year-old Kit, with Coleen announcing last month that she is pregnant with their fourth child.
