'Peaky Blinders', 'Kate Garraway: Caring for Derek', 'Married At First Sight Australia': What to watch on TV this week, 21 - 27 February

Peaky Blinders fans have waited a long time for series six, but this Sunday BBC One finally gives us the chance to see the gangland period drama's last instalment.

It goes head to head with the last in the series of Trigger Point on ITV where Vicky McClure's bomb disposal EXPO unravels the mystery of who's behind the explosions.

Documentary highlights this week include Kate Garraway: Caring for Derek on ITV on Tuesday, BBC Two's We Are Black and British on Wednesday and Thursday, and Channel 4's Moors Murders on Monday.

E4 has a strong week lined up for entertainment, with the return of Married At First Sight Australia and the launch of The Real Dirty Dancing on Monday, and a second series of Teen First Dates begins on Wednesday.

Monday

Married At First Sight Australia - E4 - 7.30pm

The dating TV juggernaut is back with a ninth series that debuts over here just weeks after it launched in Australia - leaving much less room for spoilers.

Singles meet for the first time at their own weddings, but will they make a go of it or will their marriage end in heartbreak?

Moors Murders - Channel 4 - 9pm

The moors murders always make for a chilling subject and there may be some viewers who find this new documentary a little too much.

It examines never-before-seen letters between Ian Brady and Myra Hindley while they were in prison, and includes interviews with those who knew them.

The Real Dirty Dancing - E4 - 9pm

Ever dreamed of taking on Baby and Johnny's infamous lift? So have these celebs, who'll compete to make it to the final of the show where they get to perform the movie's iconic last dance.

Hosted by Keith Lemon, it sees famous contestants including Anthea Turner, Lee Ryan and Arg move to a replica of the Dirty Dancing holiday camp to learn to dance like the pros.

The Walking Dead - Disney+

Subscribers to the streaming service get to see the second half of the show's final season from today.

Obviously, there'll be bloodshed and gore galore, but maybe at least some of the long-running characters will be offered a glimmer of hope for the future.

Tuesday

Kate Garraway: Caring for Derek - ITV - 9pm

Following on from Kate Garraway's award-winning documentary about her husband Derek Draper spending a year in hospital recovering from COVID, the cameras are back to chart his return home.

Draper was finally sent home last spring and this second documentary charts his hugely emotional welcome back by his family, who then had to adjust to the harsh realities of round-the-clock care and uncertainty about his future.

This Is Going To Hurt - BBC One - 9pm

It's an adaptation that has divided opinion with accusations of misogyny in labour care, but you can't deny that Adam Kay's memoir-brought-to-screen is an eye-opening look at the huge pressures junior doctors face.

Viewers looking for a more up-to-date view of the NHS should turn to Channel 4, airing a hospital-themed night with Geordie Hospital, 24 Hours in A&E, and 999: On the Front Line.

Wednesday

We Are Black and British - BBC Two - 9pm

The first of a two-parter that continues tomorrow night sees six people from different backgrounds meet to discuss their experiences of being Black and British.

Issues range from treatment at school to stop and search and coming out as a gay Black man.

Teen First Dates - E4 - 9pm

Anyone who can remember the awkwardness of first dates as a teen may wonder why on earth someone would choose to immortalise that on TV.

However, the teen spin-off of First Dates returns for a second series tonight as young singles take their first steps in looking for love.

Thursday

The Apprentice - BBC One - 9pm

Candidates might be hoping to have an Aston Martin of their very own if they're successful on the show, but in the meantime they must organise a corporate away day driving experience in the luxury cars at Silverstone.

However, the wheels almost come off one team at the beginning of the task as their style grates on the client, while the other team are in danger of having to offer a refund for a disappointing experience - none of which sounds like things that would please Lord Sugar.

Friday

The Graham Norton Show - BBC One - 10.35pm

The chat show host is joined by an old friend tonight as RuPaul is amongst the guests - Norton has appeared as a guest judge on Drag Race UK.

He'll also catch up with Benedict Cumberbatch, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and welcomes a performance from Regard x Years & Years.

Saturday

Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway - ITV - 7pm

The lads continue their fan favourite entertainment show, this time joined by Queen singer and Starstruck judge Adam Lambert.

In their End of the Show Show, the cast of Mary Poppins the Musical take to the stage with hits from their West End spectacular.

Sunday

Peaky Blinders - BBC One - 9pm

The hugely anticipated sixth and final season of Peaky Blinders finally gets its debut tonight after pandemic-related delays.

Of course, fans will have plenty of loose ends they'd like to see tied up for the Shelbys, but it's sure to be an emotional ride after key cast member Helen McCrory, who played Aunt Polly, passed away last year.

Trigger Point - ITV - 9pm

Set your mood to uncomfortably tense as the Vicky McClure bomb disposal thriller reaches its climactic final episode.

Of course, last Sunday appeared to show fellow EXPO John confirmed as a bomber, as suspected by Lana (McClure) - but somehow, we get the impression that the twists and turns are far from over yet.
