Wildfire Burns Next to Highway in British Columbia
The Flood Falls Trail Wildfire burned next to British Columbia’s Highway 1 near Hope, Canada, video filmed on September 10 shows.
Video filmed by local resident Amanda Figlarska shows smoke and flames rising from wooded areas along the highway between the Floods-Hope and Hunter Creek exits on Saturday.
The Fraser Valley Regional District issued a mandatory evacuation order for residences in Hunter Creek and Laidlaw on Saturday.
On September 11, the BC Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure announced the eastbound lane of Highway 1 was closed between BC-9 and BC-3 due to the fire.
