Bargain Hunt contestants reacted to a "brilliant" sale after it performed well under the hammer on Thursday's show.

The latest episode saw Danny Sebastian at an antiques fair in Harrogate, Yorkshire, where he welcomed students Jack and Joe. The housemates were joined by antiques expert John Cameron - and were challenged to find a "piece to go in a study/office" while perusing the fair.

Habib, a civil engineer, and his son Asif, also a student, made up the competing team. Izzie Balmer was on hand to help them with their quest and they were tasked with finding an "item to go on a dining room table".

The students, donning the Blue team colours, went second when it came to the auction, and their big spend resulted in a modest fortune. They spent £90 on a miniature jukebox which was estimated to make a profit by both John and the auctioneer.

The auctioneer had no struggle at all when bids flew in, climbing quickly from £70 and into the hundreds. A keen buyer snapped up the deal for £150, netting the lads a £60 profit.

It made all the difference heading into the final round as they boosted their take home pay to £75 when gambling their luck on a silver cigar cutter that was the bonus buy item. Jack said: "I am so pleased with that Danny, it's brill."

Bargain Hunt airs weekdays at 12.15pm on BBC One. Catch up is also available on BBC iPlayer.
