Former Wrexham goalkeeper Ben Foster has boldly predicted a third consecutive promotion for the club.

The Red Dragons are currently celebrating their second successive promotion to League One, just a year after regaining their Football League status. Achieving another promotion to the Championship would be a significant challenge, but Foster believes that under the leadership of Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, the club will not be content with merely maintaining their position in the third tier.

Wrexham have already let go of several key players from the past two seasons to make room for the higher quality they'll need in the third tier. If they can secure the right replacements, Foster, 41, who retired again after starting the season with the club, believes another promotion is possible, reports the Mirror.

"It's hard to replace that level of person in the changing room," he said on his Fozcast podcast. "If one club can do it, Wrexham can do it because their recruitment policy is: 'We recruit people first and they have to be good at football'.

When asked if another promotion was possible in 2024/25, Foster confidently stated: "I think they're going to do it, I really do. I think they're going to invest in half-a-dozen really good players. Solid people, solid professionals that are going to raise the standard a little bit more.

"What they've got in that team anyway is League One level. If they add more quality, more experience, they're going to be there or thereabouts again come the end of the season.

"I guarantee you, the owners, manager [Phil Parkinson], the coaching staff and even some of the players will not be thinking about solidifying. They'll be thinking they want to at least be knocking on the doors of the play-offs."
