‘Emmerdale’ tonight: Murderous Meena takes the stand as her trial continues
The stakes couldn’t be higher for the residents of Emmerdale as twisted Meena Jutla’s (Paige Sandhu) murder trial continues tonight.
In the latest instalment of the ITV soap, which airs tonight at 7:30, all eyes are on Meena — and that’s just the way she likes it.

The week began with Liam Cavanagh’s (Jonny McPherson) testimony, and the grieving father was pushed to his limits as the defence barrister (Amy Robbins) suggested he had conducted a scandalous affair with Meena.
Liam snapped, angry and upset that the focus had veered so far from Meena’s brutal murder of his beloved daughter Leanna (Mimi Slinger) last year.

Justice certainly wasn’t looking likely, especially when Meena’s traumatised sister Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) didn’t fare much better during her own time on the stand.
As she tried her very best to expose Meena’s guilt, Manpreet was confronted over her own past misdemeanours.
Of course, Meena’s crimes are much worse by comparison — but Manpreet’s confirmation of her sinister sibling’s confession held less weight now that she had been portrayed as a compulsive liar.

Meena could barely contain her glee as she watched on in court; and we later saw just how confident she was about walking free as she belted out a rendition of the Diana Ross hit ‘I’m Coming Out’ in her prison cell.
She was so certain, in fact, that when the barrister told her not to speak in court, Meena ignored her advice.

Naturally, the villain wants her moment in the spotlight, and as Emmerdale returns tonight, Meena will be seen rehearsing her lines. She’s intent on making an impression on the court, but not as the person we know her to be.
Meena doesn’t hold back as she portrays herself as an innocent victim. But will she be able to fool the jury into acquitting her? Expect plenty more of Meena’s trademark theatrics as she delivers an unmissable testimony.
Beyond Meena’s big moment, a nervous Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) must also speak up as a character witness for the fellow nurse, who she previously liked and respected. She told a worried Liam that she had no intention of helping the killer, but she also refused to lie.
What will Wendy say on the stand? Will her contribution aid Meena’s case, or can she find a way to help the woman’s victims while being honest at the same time?
Find out exactly how the drama unfolds on Emmerdale tonight at 7:30pm.
