Cheryl has been made to regret another comment she made about the future of Girls Aloud and the chances of them ever reuniting, with an old quote coming back to haunt her, weeks ahead of the group's comeback tour starting.

Like bandmates Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts and late star Sarah Harding, Cheryl earned her spot in Girls Aloud, having made it all the way to the final of Popstars: The Rivals in 2002 and then getting the votes from the public when it mattered most to put her into the band.

Weeks after they were formed, Girls Aloud easily saw off competition from boyband One True Voice to become Christmas number 1 with debut single Sound of the Underground, be also hitting the top spot with the likes of I'll Stand By You and The Promise. At the height of their pop fame, Girls Aloud filmed fly on the wall docu series Off the Record for E4 and, it's in a scene with ex Ashley Cole, that Geordie star Cheryl poured cold water on the chances of the group ever getting back together.

Chatting to the ex Arsenal player, Cheryl commented: "There'll be no reunions, can you imagine 30 odd year old singing I'm just a Love Machine?! "

Having already poked fun at Cheerful for the Love Machine part of her infamous quote earlier in the year, her bandmates have now unearthed the first part of her statement in a new video that was posted on their social media channels. As the words: "There'll be no reunion" appear on screen, Cheryl is seen mouthing along to an American voice saying 'You know what errr. No, we didn't say that no...but it looks an awful like that," before Kimberley turns to her and mouths: "It does doesn't it?"

The post, shared on Instagram, came with the words: 'So... yeah, anyway... See you at #TheGirlsAloudShow next month."

There was great excitement when, after a lot of speculation, Girls Aloud, who appeared on the Saturday Night Takeaway finale at the weekend, announced their reunion tour, which will kick off in Dublin on May 17 and also include three nights in a row in Cheryl's hometown of Newcastle.
