Japanese woman, 81, designs iPhone app from scratch - and only saw her first computer at the age of 60
You are never too old – as one very smart Japanese OAP has proved.
Masako Wakamiya, 81, has produced her own iPhone app after learning programming from scratch.
The tech-savvy Wakamiya has designed an app called Hinadan, which is based on a traditional Japanese holiday involving dressed-up dolls.
The app allows users to play a game in which they must arrange a series of dolls in a specific order.

In total, the game asks players to place a total of 12 dolls in their respective positions on a standard display with four tiers.
The game only finishes once the dolls are in their correct spots.
If they get it wrong players are told by a series of “beeps”.
Wakamiya only got her first computer at the age of 60 after retiring from work. She worked for more than 40 years at a bank.
Her computer skills have led to a degree of worldwide fame.
In 2014, she was invited to give a talk at TEDxTokyo, where she described how she built her own computer.
She also runs a website full of Excel art tutorials and other guides for senior computer users, reports BoredPanda.com
Wakamiya also wants to be an inspiration for other OAP computer users.
