A large police presence was reported in a residential street as police responded to an incident. At least six police cars rushed to Mensing Avenue, Cotgrave on Friday night (May 24).

Reports from the area said a helicopter was heard overhead, with some residents saying they believed an air ambulance later landed nearby. A police vehicle could be seen blocking access to the road at around 8.30pm.

Eyewitnesses described seeing a large number of emergency service vehicles throughout the evening, with police activity centred on a part of the road close to the junction with Plumtree Road and Bakers Hollow. They said an ambulance was also called to the scene at one stage.

The nature of the incident has not yet been confirmed by police. Nottinghamshire Live has asked Nottinghamshire Police for an update.
