A man has written a song in honour of his friend who passed away suddenly.

Bobby Latheron, 28, from Middlesbrough, who works part-time at a bakery, has written a song in honour of his friend, Ziggy, who he had known for two years through charity group Autism Matters.

He said he wanted to express both his own and the group’s collective feelings through the song.

Mr Latheron added he collaborated alongside Carl Pemberton and Beth Miller for the song entitled ‘Moving on.’

He added he believes people with autism often struggle to express themselves and thought music would be the best way to channel his feelings.

He said: “When my songs were ready to get released, he would actually do the lyrics and the music video for them.

“When I’d seen that he’d passed away, it kind of shocked me. I was just speaking to him a few days before.

“I said to Carl ‘I really want to do a song for him.’ I thought what can I do with this song.

“I decided to give it to Autism Matters, they were really happy that I’d given his song to them.”

Mr Latheron, who was diagnosed with autism at 14, said he often felt ignored and let down by his teachers at school, and was regularly bullied by other children.

He said he wanted to raise awareness for those with the condition and help people recognise the struggles those with autism face.
