Man fined £1,040 and banned over driving offence

A man has been fined £1,040 and handed six points after driving through red lights in Preston.

Officers said Muhsen Kalid, 60, of Mosley Street, Preston then provided false information to the police in an attempt to avoid prosecution.

Kalid, received six points on his licence, bringing his total to 12 and he was banned from driving for six months. He was also ordered to pay £1,040 for the fine, victim surcharge and prosecution costs.

PC Emma Greenwood, of the Safer Roads Unit said: “This was a serious attempt to pervert the course of justice and, as demonstrated, we will bring people before the courts for this.

“The Safer Roads Unit are committed to tackling these crimes, and should you choose to commit criminal driving offences, know that we will find out, and we will bring you to justice.”
