Motorcyclist rushed to hospital in serious condition after early-morning A121 crash in Waltham Abbey

A motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a collision on Woodridden Hill (A121) in Waltham Abbey. The single-vehicle collision occurred at around 5.30am on Wednesday morning (May 8).

Essex Police said they received reports of a collision. They attended alongside colleagues from the East of England Ambulance Service Trust and London Ambulance Service. Two air ambulances were also sent to the scene to support emergency services.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Officers remain at the scene and are liaising with Essex Highways before reopening road.

A spokesperson from Essex Police said: "Officers were called to Woodridden Hill in Waltham Abbey at around 5:30am this morning (8 May) following reports of a single motorbike collision.

"The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Officers remain at the scene and liaising with Essex Highways to facilitate the road re-opening."

An East of England Ambulance Service Trust spokesperson said: "One ambulance and air ambulances from Essex and Herts Air Ambulance and London Ambulance Service were called to A121 near Loughton this morning following reports of a motorcyclist injured in a road traffic collision. One man was taken in a serious condition to the Royal London Hospital by Road Ambulance."
