‘Never give up’: Woman loses beloved cat - but finds him after nearly two years

A woman who lost her beloved indoor cat refused to give up the search – having shared her home with her beloved Siamese for 12 years.

Amazingly, Diego the indoor cat actually showed up at a local animal shelter late last year – having gone missing in June 2015.

Iris Samaniego said that after Diego sneaked out through the garage, ‘I posted signs everywhere for over a year.’

Her sister Crystal Samaniego wrote on Facebook, ‘Never give up on finding your animals. Something told her to check the shelter today and when she looked she saw a cat the looked just like her Diego. She came straight to the shelter after work and when we saw him we knew it was him.’

Iris said, ‘The moment I saw him I felt indescribable joy, I felt peace and overwhelmed because I knew he wasn’t dead. My intuition always told me he was alive.

‘After almost two long years I found my 13 year old cat! I can’t tell you how much joy this has brought our family.’
