Newcastle United summer signings predicted with Liverpool and Chelsea transfer challenge

Newcastle United and their rivals can now officially do business with the opening of the 2024 summer transfer window.

From now until September 1, Eddie Howe will be permitted to make alterations to his squad to go again next season. The boss will be seeking to improve on last year's seventh-placed finish and re-qualify for Europe after marginally missing out, though this may prove more difficult than hoped as outgoings will be required to offset Profit and Sustainability Rule breach fears.

On that basis, perhaps the biggest question to answer will be the Magpies' future right-wing starter. Current first-choice Miguel Almiron has been tipped to move on with Saudi Pro League interest likely to reemerge and an ambitious Ipswich Town swoop touted. Ultimately, would leave Jacob Murphy as the only natural player in this role

So how would the problem be solved? Well, utilising Sky Bet's next club market on the transfer window's opening day, Newcastle are being linked with six high-profile wide attacking talents that could complete a devastating front three alongside Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak.

Each have their own competition for signature, with Newcastle currently not named favourites for any wingers. However, at present it is Wolves' Pedro Neto deemed most likely to join the club, possessing odds of 6/1. That said, they have drifted behind three top-flight rivals in this race.

The 24-year-old has endured an injury-ravaged time in the Premier League, though glimpses of flair when available have seen him earn £60m links to Tyneside and Premier League champions Man City.

Crystal Palace duo Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze have also been subject to gossip as a result of their 2023/24 performances, firstly under a struggling Roy Hodgson then later as part of Oliver Glasner's revitalised side. The former - who Newcastle have reportedly held talks for - is 8/1 to move to St. James' Park, whilst the latter is 12/1.

Sandwiched between the two of them is Leeds United's Crysencio Summerville at 10/1, who registered 31 goal contributions for the second-tier club last campaign. But finally if Howe is to turn to an experienced option instead, the Magpies are now 14/1 to sign Chelsea's Raheem Sterling and 16/1 to complete a shock swoop for Jack Grealish from Man City.

Alternatively, there are a number of other positions Newcastle could seek to add depth and quality to in the next two-and-a-half months. One interesting revelation is the club are evens (1/1) favourite to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Everton. Also only Tottenham and Man United sit ahead of them in the race to recruit Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest, who must raise funds before June 30 to meet PSR standards, with Newcastle given a 6/1 shot at the signing.

As for outgoings, Arsenal are 5/1 current favourites for Isak having had long-standing interest, Man City are 5/6 current favourites to steal Bruno Guimaraes and eight suitors for Callum Wilson are spearheaded by West Ham at 5/1.
