New route to launch from Liverpool to sunny destination with prices starting at £69

A new airline will begin operating flights from Liverpool John Lennon Airport next year.

SunExpress, a joint venture of Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines, will fly between Liverpool and Antalya in Turkey from April 6, 2025. Bookings for the flights open today, with prices starting from £69.99.

The new route from Liverpool marks an expansion of SunExpress’ services from across the UK. This summer, it will operate 136 flights per week from nine UK airports.

The airline offers a range of ticket fare options. Its basic SunEco option includes at least 20kg of checked baggage on international flights.

About the new route from Liverpool, Tobias Bracht, head of sales for SunExpress, said: “We are thrilled to announce the launch of our exciting new route from Liverpool to Antalya in 2025.

Paul Winfield, aviation director for Liverpool John Lennon Airport, added: “We are delighted to welcome this new scheduled service with SunExpress, the latest carrier to announce operations from Liverpool.

"Antalya remains a popular destination from Liverpool and a route with significant scope to grow when comparing capacity to other UK Airports.

"We look forward to seeing SunExpress begin and grow their services in Liverpool, with passengers from across the North West being given the opportunity to fly to popular destinations from the Faster Easier Friendlier Airport in the North West.”
