Ryanair warns passengers to 'check app' after 'unforeseen closure'

Ryanair has issued a travel warning to passengers as a runway closure could spark delays today. Ryanair, which is rivalled by Jet2, TUI, Easyjet, British Airways, Wizz Air and more, has issued the warning over Twitter/X for passengers and holidaymakers.

The airline said: “Affected passengers will be notified and any passengers travelling to/from Edinburgh on Thu 09 May should check their Ryanair app for the latest updates on their flight. We regret any inconvenience caused to passengers by this unforeseen runway closure which is outside of Ryanair’s control and affects all airlines operating to/from Edinburgh Thu 09 May.”

On its website, Ryanair says: "If your flight has been cancelled or delayed you might be eligible for compensation or expenses. There are various rules and restrictions regarding making a claim, therefore it is advised to check your eligibility before requesting compensation and expenses.
