'Festival of Imagination' at Cornish tourist attraction this May

The popular Festival of Imagination returns to the Eden Project this May half-term.

Running from May 25 to June 2, it promises a combination of culture and creativity with fun experiences for all family members.

To add more flavour, the festival line-up includes musical performances, art, literature, video games, and interactive experiences.

One notable feature of this year's event is the Blockbuster Factory, an audience participation show where festival-goers transform into crucial characters in a film set.

This unique adventure allows the participants to play significant roles in the story, thereby providing a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of cinema.

Meanwhile, visitors can also look forward to a puppet show, Anansi and the Lost Sun, which offers an insight into puppetry alongside craft activities.

Music lovers can expect African drumming, dancing, and acrobatic performances by One Drum, alongside workshops for those seeking learning experiences.

The Eden Project’s living theatre production manager, Tamsyn Lewis said: "We are incredibly excited for the return of our popular Festival of Imagination event, and this year promises to be even bigger with music, art, literature, and interactive experiences for all ages."

She further expressed her hopes that the festival would empower and inspire children whilst also encouraging them to question the world around them.

For technology enthusiasts, interactive activities centred on Looking for the Cloud, an augmented reality experience, will reveal how the internet and our devices are interconnected and how they consume energy.

Additionally, the festival will showcase the Mossy Carpet, a huge collaborative art project.

Communities nationwide have been adding textiles to the carpet, making it 50 metres long so far, with hopes of further extension.

A new feature this year is the Adventure Cinema, which will provide evening movie screenings from May 25 to 27.

This will offer a unique experience as the movie characters come to life in the picturesque setting of the Eden Project.
