General Election 2024: Where's my polling station in Stoke-on-Trent South

Voters in Stoke-on-Trent South and across the country will be heading to the polls on Thursday for the general election. People will have from 7am to 10pm to cast their vote at their designated polling station - and you can still vote if you are already in the queue at 10pm.

Everyone who is registered to vote should have received a poll card which will say which polling station they should use. They will not be able to cast a vote anywhere else.

All voters will need to bring an accepted form of photo ID, such as a passport or a driving licence.

Tory Jack Brereton first won Stoke-on-Trent South in 2017 - and retained the seat two years later. He secured an increased majority of 11,271 in 2019.

Stoke-on-Trent South, which includes some of the city's most affluent areas, such as Trentham and Meir Park, was always the Potteries seat more likely to switch to the Conservatives. Recent boundary changes, which have seen the addition of rural areas like Forsbrook and Barlaston to the constituency, should further increase the number of natural Tory voters. But with the Conservatives trailing well behind Labour in national polls, and with Reform UK eating into their support following the return of Nigel Farage, Mr Brereton will still face a major challenge to hold onto his seat.

Stoke-on-Trent South candidates

Michael Bailey - Reform UK

Jack Brereton - Conservative

Allison Gardner - Labour

Asif Mehmood - Independent

Carla Parrish - Independent

Alec Sandiford - Liberal Democrats

Peggy Wiseman - Green
