Sex robots ‘could change humanity forever’ by making sexual encounters ‘too easy’
Companies around the world are racing to create talking ‘sex robots’ – artificially intelligent love dolls in both male and female forms.
But the technology could change the human race forever, one expert has warned – by making sex ‘too easy’.
Noel Sharkey of the Foundation of Responsible Robotics warned that the machines could ‘change humanity completely’.
Sharkey previously warned that child-sized robots could be used by paedophiles – and rapists could indulge their violent fantasies on robots that said, ‘No.’
In a new documentary, Sex Robots and Us, Sharkey says, ‘We’re just doing all this stuff with machines because we can, and not really thinking how this could change humanity completely.
‘Some people have suggested that sex robots create an attitude of ‘too-easy’ sex which is always available.
‘This could take meaning out of our lives and turn us into zombies.’

Last year, a scientific study found that a quarter of millennials admitted they would be happy having a sexual relationship with a robot.
In a study conducted by Paris-based Havas, 27% of 18-34 year olds would form a relationship with a robot.
Last month, academics suggested that we would soon see the rise of ‘digisexuals’ – who will identify as machine-lovers, and will opt for relationships with machines over human beings.
‘There is no question that sexbots are coming. People will form an intense connection with their robot companions,’ said Dr Neil McArthur of the University of Manitoba
‘These robots will be tailor-made to meet people’s desires and will do things that human partners cannot or will not do.
‘As these technologies advance, their adoption will grow and many people will come to identify themselves as ‘digisexuals’ – people whose primary sexual identity comes through the use of technology.
