UK tourists told they can have Prague stag do if they 'promise to be quiet'

A leading UK stag do firm is offering people money off Prague stag weekends if they ‘promise to keep the noise down’ when they’re there. The stag do company, StagWeb.co.uk, launched the offer just hours after it was announced that officials in Prague were looking at banning fancy dress costumes to try and prevent excessive noise pollution.

StagWeb are offering groups £50 off their weekend by simply writing ‘I promise we’ll be quiet’ when they enquire for their weekends. “This will be just as effective at tackling noise pollution as banning fancy dress will be,” said Jon Stainer, Creative Director at StagWeb.

“We’re not trying to belittle issues the locals have with noise, but the officials' proposals are just absurd. We want everyone to be able to enjoy the city and Prague to continue to profit off the thousands of stag and hen parties that head there every year, but this won’t do anything.

“Whilst the majority of stags will be respectful of noise pollution and not wear obscene or offensive fancy dress, as a company, we’d be more than happy to reiterate the need for stags to behave appropriately when they’re in Prague.

“We can ask our stags to go suited and booted if people think it’s going to help, but I don’t think it’s going to solve the issues.” According to StagWeb’s end-of-year stats, Prague is their 4 th most popular European destination for 2024 behind Benidorm, Albufeira and Dublin.

“This year, more and more stags are heading for sun rather than heading to Eastern Europe. Can hardly blame them given the awful weather in the UK in the last two years," he went on. The ten most popular stag do destinations for 2024 include Benidorm, Albufeira and Dublin, followed by Prague, Barcelona and Lisbon, followed by Berlin, Amsterdam, Budapest and Krakow.

StagWeb are one of the UK’s leading stag party planners having sent over 600,000 people off on their pre-wedding weekends since 2002.
