Woman hit by car at supermarket rushed to hospital as road closed

A 35-year-old woman has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in Stamford Hill. Police rushed to the scene shortly before 8.50am this morning (Tuesday, May 7) to reports of a crash near a local supermarket.

London Ambulance Service also attended as the victim was taken to hospital shortly afterwards. The incident caused disruption on the A10 this morning with traffic trailing back to the one-way system in Stoke Newington. It reopened at about 10.35am.

Metropolitan Police is now appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash. A spokesperson said: "Police were called to a local supermarket in Stamford Hill, Hackney at 8.49am by London Ambulance Services on Tuesday, May 7 following reports that a there was a road traffic collision which involved a 35 year old woman who had been hit by a car.

"The woman was taken to hospital for further investigations. Roads were closed in both direction on the A10 early this morning, reopened by 10.35am Enquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone with information is asked to call police via 101 quoting reference CAD 1540/07MAY24."
