Yahoo News A38 closures as 27 new Plymouth roadwork schemes begin this week
There are 27 new roadworks schemes getting under way in Plymouth this week. This is in addition to the existing schemes already ongoing.
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday night, there will be lane closures on outer ring of the Manadon roundabout. The closures for drainage surveys are in place from 7pm to 6am, and are on all A38 entry and exit slips.
Also from today, there will be traffic lights in place on Furzehatt Road. There are Multi-way signals at Goosewell Road/Underlane junction, 24 hours a day, for the next fortnight, for gas main works.
Plymouth City Council has helpfully put out a list of roadworks that will be taking place across the city over the next week. The council is responsible for coordinating works carried out by utility companies, developers and other organisations as well as their own repair, maintenance and improvement works.
They maintain all public roads in Plymouth except the A38, which is managed by National Highways on behalf of the Department for Transport.
“We know there's no good time to close roads, especially on busy routes and we do everything we can to co-ordinate planned works and minimise their impact on our transport network,” a City Council spokesman said.
The following roadworks are taking place in Plymouth between Saturday 29 June and Saturday 6 July .
