A Goring care home recently welcomed two cyclists taking part in an event aimed at raising awareness of social care.

The Grange hosted participants of the Great British Care Cycle Relay during Care Home Open Week, which ran from June 24-30.

The home hosted a garden party for the relay cyclists, bringing together residents, staff, and the public.

Visitors enjoyed refreshments, entertainment, and ice cream vouchers for a visiting van, given to all attendees.

Manager at The Grange, Dianne Downard, said: "We're thrilled to have been a part of this incredible initiative.

"It's not just about cheering on the cyclists; it's about celebrating the vital role that care homes play in our communities and the dedication of our care workers."

The home said the event "showcased the care home's commitment to community engagement and highlighted the importance of social care services".

The Great British Care Cycle Relay spans 300 miles from Manchester to London and aims to promote the role of care services in communities.

The route takes cyclists through picturesque landscapes across Cheshire, north Wales, Shropshire, Birmingham, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and finally into London.

The Grange is owned by Goring Care Homes which also owns Lyndhurst Residential Home in Goring.

The Grange, a listed building with scenic grounds, and Lyndhurst, a refurbished Victorian property, both offer older people a "comfortable" retirement with care always available.
