'What Are You Doing?!': Motorist Drives Into Floodwater in Southeast Texas as Onlookers Scream

Flash flooding left motorists stranded in parts of southeastern Texas on Thursday, May 2, as storms dropped inches of rain across the region.

Footage taken by Ryan Star shows a driver whose vehicle became stuck in a College Station parking lot on Thursday morning.

“Watched this poor girl drive into the creek right behind our building in College Station,” he wrote on social media. “Good news is she’s OK. This is why you ALWAYS turn around, don’t drown.”

A flood watch would remain in effect for Brazos County through Friday afternoon. Credit: Ryan Star/KNDE via Storyful

I want to see if they're going to turn around or if they're going to try it, whoever owns that car.I would not try and drive a sedan through that.I really would not. What are they gonna do?Oh, no way. What are you doing? You're literally driving right into it.What are you doing? What is this person doing? What are you're driving into the creek? No, no, no, no, no.Stop, stop. No, no, no.Ok. That got bad very quickly.Uh Should we go down down there and help? So, uh good news. The girl is ok. She is out of her car and there are some people walking over to help her right now.So, uh, she is ok. That is the important part, her car, uh, maybe not so much, but the girl is ok.I want to see if they're going to turn around or if they're going to try it.Whoever owns that car.I would not try and drive a sedan through that.I really would not. What are they gonna do?Oh, no way. What are you doing? You're literally driving right into it.What are you doing? What is this person doing? What are you're driving into the creek? No, no, no, no, no, stop, stop. No, no, no.Ok.
